The Estoril Coast is one of the most sought after resorts for golfing in Portugal. The reasons are plain to see: courses designed by leading architects, with excellent conditions and infra structures complemented by a hotel and cultural offer that makes your stay even more enjoyable.
Today the region features seven 18 hole courses: Belas Clube de Campo, Golfe do Estoril, Lisbon Sports Club, Quinta da Beloura Golfe, Quinta da Marinha Golf, Penha Longa Atlântico and Oitavos Dunes Golfe (the latter two classified in the 50 best courses in Europe ranking) and one 9 hole - Penha Longa Monastery.
The climate is mild so that golf can be played all year round.
The Estoril & Sintra Golf Coast, also known as the Lisbon Golf Coast, won the “Established Golf Destination of the Year” award in 2003. The prize was awarded by 140 golf tour operators from 27 different countries, all members of IAGTO (the International Association of Golf Tour Operators).
The Estoril & Sintra Golf Coast also hosted the golf industry’s biggest trade event worldwide, the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), in Estoril, from 6 -9 December 2004.
More recently the region was awarded again by IAGTO as "Golf Destination of the Year (Europe)", for 2007.
